Lithuanian Cultural Center of Philadelphia
Located on the downstairs level of the Lithuanian Music Hall, the Lithuanian Cultural Center Museum and Library, through its mission to preserve the history and intellectual heritage of Lithuanians in Philadelphia, collects, catalogs, and preserves vital records and documents. Our library collection includes more than 10,000 books, journals, magazines, records, and recordings, maps, and historical documents.
On permanent display in the museum are traditional Lithuanian textiles, national costumes, ceramics, and amber. The Lithuanian community’s original membership ledger from the Hall’s founding in 1908 is displayed, as well as photographs of people and events held throughout the years. In addition to its permanent collection, the museum’s gallery space hosts art exhibitions, lectures, and meetings.
The museum and library are open on Lithuanian ethnic holidays and by appointment.
The museum of the Lithuanian Cultural Center of Philadelphia boasts a permanent display of Lithuanian and Lithuanian-American art, historical and ethnographic artifacts, photographs, textiles, and ceramics.
The Lithuanian Cultural Center of Philadelphia Library contains more than 10,000 books, journals, magazines, maps, records, and recordings.
